About This Role

AEI's Center on Opportunity and Social Mobility (COSM) is hiring a Research Assistant to work with Senior Fellow Angela Rachidi on research into US safety-net programs and their outcomes, including poverty, food insecurity, and health.


Responsibilities:

- Assist with quantitative and qualitative research on federal antipoverty and safety-net programs

- Analyze administrative data, surveys, and program evaluations

- Help prepare research papers, policy briefs, and testimony

- Support media and outreach activities related to the research agenda


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, social work, or related field

- Strong data analysis skills (Stata, R, or Python a plus)

- Commitment to evidence-based, nonpartisan research

- Start date: no later than summer 2026
