City Journal is seeking an experienced Editor to join a new team focused on misgovernance and public accountability in California. This is an opportunity to shape some of the most important accountability journalism in the country.

Responsibilities:

- Edit investigative and long-form pieces with precision, clarity, and speed

- Work closely with reporters from pitch through publication

- Fact-check and ensure the highest standards of accuracy and fairness

- Contribute to editorial planning and story development

- Collaborate with the broader City Journal editorial team

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of editing experience at a news organization, magazine, or policy publication

- Track record of editing investigative or accountability journalism

- Exceptional line-editing skills and attention to detail

- Experience working with writers at all levels
