Lead Designer

The Manhattan Institute is seeking a Lead Designer to drive visual identity and design excellence across all of our communications — from research reports and City Journal to digital campaigns and events.

Responsibilities:

- Lead design efforts across marketing, research publications, events, and City Journal

- Set and maintain visual standards and brand guidelines

- Collaborate with writers, editors, and communications staff on all design needs

- Manage design projects from brief to final delivery

- Mentor junior design staff or contractors as the team grows

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of design experience, preferably in media, publishing, or advocacy

- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

- Strong portfolio demonstrating range across print and digital

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
